3 November 1938: Annual Dinner of A/E and R

John Nash, Lieutenant-General of the Isle of Wight, has kindly passed on this photograph, which was taken at the Shakespeare's Head in London. I wonder if it is still there? Few readers will have worked with more than a handful of the well-dressed assembly, which among other things suggests that the Glass Ceiling was in full operation within HMSO in those days.

Close-up shows Jack Cherns and Charles Blundell who will be well known to those readers who worked in Sovereign House in the early years of dispersal to Norwich.
