Hi Reg, Last Thursday, 25 May, six HMSO old boys took themselves off to the delights of Lowestoft by train. A gloriously sunny if breezy day. Our days of paddling and sand castle building are sadly passed (no grandchildren in tow). Instead we had a stroll along the promenade to the Hatfield Hotel where we had a leisurely lunch.
Then south to the Claremont Pier; where Geoff S thought there was a roller-skating rink he fancied trying. Fortunately it was discontinued some time ago and we did not add to the burden on the local NHS hospital.
We walked to the open end of the pier and watch the Kittiwakes nesting on the structure. Some birds have settled on window sills etc in Lowestoft. Several dedicated structures have been erected to encourage the birds to safer places.
Finally tea and cake at the Thatched café where the group picture was taken.

Brian, An excellent day out for The Magnificent Six: Messrs Cockram, Crabtree, Curtis, Durkin, Mickleburgh and Sinden (note the use of alphabetical order to prevent arguments of seniority). Oh to be young and active like yourselves! Best wishes, and long may such days out continue. Reg
