Sad news, via Nodge Carnegie, that Arthur has died. He and his wife, Kathleen, lived in Earlham Road Norwich, where he was regularly seen, cheerful as ever and more often than not putting money into the hand of the pavement artist on the Grapes Hill bridge. A decent man: he will be missed.
A Requiem Mass will be held for Arthur at the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Earlham Road, Norwich, at 1200 hours on Wednesday 19 December. Following cremation at Earlham Cemetery, there will be a reception at the Narthex, which is within the Cathedral precinct. Details here.
Arthur joined HMSO as Clerical Officer in 1962, and retired as EO, having spent some time in PS but mostly in Publications Division.
