1939–2025

The sad news that Howard died, peacefully in his sleep, on 10 December 2025 was passed on to HMSOldies by his son Harry.
Howard was born on 24 September 1939 and joined HMSO Supply Division, Atlantic House, on 1 July 1966. He moved with his family to Norwich upon dispersal, working in Computer Services/CCTA. He was a conscientious, relaxed and friendly colleague.
Harry has since added: The funeral is going to be at 10am on January 9th at St Faiths crematorium – there will be a weblink and I’ll send once I have spoken with them.
Eric Bone adds: Oh that’s sad. Such a good bloke, Howard. I have many happy memories of conversations with Howard during our joint IT days. And one memory from Howard of the time his son (may have been Harry?) managed to paint himself and the lounge carpet with antique gold paint, having, at the age of three, managed to open a tin Howard was using for a decorating job! Typical of Howard, a story he told with a smile on his face.
A splendid, good natured, colleague. Commiserations to his loved one’s. RIP, Howard.
