3 January 2023 – From John Nash

Hi Reg, For many of us there will always be an affection for having worked in HMSO and so just a line to wish you and the team grateful thanks for all the hard work in keeping us in touch with latest developments in the ‘Oldies’.

Sadly the Obits keep appearing and I was sorry to learn about Sue Prutton. Although I did not work with her she attended several of the Training Branch courses. A most pleasant lady and the sad circumstances contributing to her death were most unfortunate.

On a happier note, I cannot believe that young Pip has retired/become redundant at so young an age! However, the retirement party for one seems to have been one helluva a good time. He and Karen joined me at Christmas and we certainly made up the numbers then.

It was good to hear from Norma Groom enjoying her sunny retirement in South Africa. And also from Tim (Sir Walter) Riley.

All good wishes for the New Year

John

Hello John, Good to hear from you, and thank you for your good wishes, which I have passed on to Philip and to Robert, without whom HMSOldies would have been but a forlorn wish. As you say, too many obits. Good news about young Philip though. In all, he did several more years ‘in service’ than many of us 1996 ejectees! And we can always rely on TCR to stir the pot. Best wishes, Reg.
