Hi Reg
Barbara and I had a bus ride to Anglia Square, Norwich to see how the demolish of Anglia Square is progressing and I took a few pictures of the site.

Apart from Gildengate and Sovereign houses, only the buildings along Pitt Street including Surrey Chapel remain. I think the Pitt Street buildings are being dismantled with hand tools because of their closeness to the road. Not in the manner used in the early 50’s when the men stood on the walls they were knocking down.
We had a cup of coffee in the Sahara café, Magdalen Street before strolling around the site and up to the Glass House, Wetherspoons, for another coffee.
Sadly there are quite a number of shops closed and boarded up in Magdalen Street and it seems to me the street is declining again.
Best wishes, Brian
Good to hear from you, Brian, and thank you for the fine photographs. I am frequently in the area of Anglia Square, so have seen how the old place is crumbling. 58 years since so many of us saw the place for the first time. Many of us thought that it would last a lot longer.
Best wishes, Reg
