In recognition of ‘John Nash makes it to top of the shop, 9-0 ninety’ day on 6 May 2023 (Can it be so? He looks so young) son Philip Nash wrote as follows:
‘So nice of HM King to agree to share his Special Day with the Earl of Wight enjoying a crab sandwich on an island floating restaurant with a ‘chip off the old block.’
The piece was overseen for grammar and spelling by Phil’s wife Karen, and verified by Friends of the Aged, JH Eason and TC Riley, neither of whom is old enough to remember John’s first HMSO day on 16 January 1950. And that noise in the background is Stan Smith bellowing ‘For King and Country. At least, that is what I think he is bellowing.
