July 1960: SO Review No.165 with a Jack Palmer cartoon

pg_074

A cartoon from the days when wives wore a frock on the beach and the idealised, unattainable woman was as near in shape to Marilyn Monroe as possible. The idealised, only too attainable, man was as near to the bar as possible. And in those days, a week’s leave included Saturday morning. Thanks to Jack Palmer, one of SO Review’s most prolific cartoonists.~
