9 Jul 2021 – From Val Bailey

Hi Reg, I was sad to read that Brian Lee had passed away. It was nice to read news of Norma Groom, I often think of her.  Also of the Munns, father and son. How time flies! I am OK but like us all have a number of aches and pains. Yesterday I saw (!) my Doc and commented that I have an old exercise bike in a shed – would it be sensible to get it repaired and use it?  He said ‘yes’. I have been wondering how often he gets asked that question by 92 year olds. I shall have to force myself to use it! Or be shamed!

I do hope you are well Reg. You are wonderful to keep this record going. Long may you and the record continue.

Warm regards, Val.

Hello Valerie, It was a pleasure to read your very kind note: thank you. I have copied to the HMSOldies team, who do all the hard work on the website. As you say, sad times for many, but the thought of you battling for the Yellow Jersey in your static version of the Tour de France will keep us going through this blustery Summer weather. By the way, Les Birch makes it to 99 on 23 July. Must remember to ask him if he has a bike . . .

Best wishes, Reg.
