30 May 2023 – From Brian Cockram
Hi Reg, Last Thursday, 25 May, six HMSO old boys took themselves off to the delights of Lowestoft by train. A gloriously sunny if breezy day. Our days of paddling and sand castle building are sadly passed (no grandchildren in tow). Instead we had a stroll along the promenade to the Hatfield Hotel where we…

Bob and Valerie were both in good form and entertained groups of bridge players, walkers, and former colleagues, plus family. It…
10 Jul 2023 – From Norma Groom
Hi Reg, I hope everyone is well. We are both OK but it’s very cold here. Durban has had thick snow which, thank God, has not hit us at Cape Town. We have never, in the 24 years we have been here, known it to be such a cold miserable winter. What is happening in the UK…
28 June 2023 – HMSO Supplies Machinery Reunion Lunch
Good to see the smiling faces around the table at The Cote Brasserie, in Norwich, for a sociable lunch. Round the table, from left to right, Mike Betts, Reg Walker (does he ever take that hat off?), Rita Tuttle, the self-effacing Jane Burgis, Helen George, Sue Whitaker and Rod Durkin. Much scandal was discussed, but…

We haven’t changed that much but, to clear up any confusion, the cast list reads, from left to right, Alex Mackie, Tom McNeill, Jim Richardson, Ross Richardson and Margaret…

Iris joined HMSO as paperkeeper in July 1969, having moved from London to Norwich with her late husband Ron. Their daughter Hilary Goreham also worked at HMSO. The EDP notice can be seen here.
A Meal Fit For A (Former Civil Servant)
In recognition of ‘John Nash makes it to top of the shop, 9-0 ninety’ day on 6 May 2023 (Can it be so? He looks so young) son Philip Nash wrote as follows: ‘So nice of HM King to agree to share his Special Day with the Earl of Wight enjoying a crab sandwich on…
